Girls on the Run is changing the narrative about what it means to be a girl and shifting the way girls see themselves and their opportunities. Through life-changing, self-esteem enhancing lessons, girls learn that their opinion matters, to value their voice, to celebrate what makes every girl unique, and to believe that they each have strengths, talents, and skills that are valuable across many contexts and situations. Each season comes to an end with a joyful and fun non-competitive 5K (3.1 miles). This culmination gives girls a tangible sense of accomplishment and the confidence to be the author of her story.
